An accordionist spurred the crowd of about 150 to dance, clap or yelp bird caws in approval.

Ever since releasing his first album, “Landero Vive,” a tribute record to his grandfather, the accordionist has dedicated his life to touring and sharing his familial legacy.

“We never intended to appear daring or rebellious,” says Ricky Muñoz, the band’s singer and accordionist, when asked about the radical sound of the band’s latest effort.

Pageot, an accomplished pianist, keyboardist and accordionist who has toured with the likes of Diana Ross, Cher and Madonna, had never heard of Still — and was intrigued to listen to his symphony.

Most accordionists who play Mexican music use button instruments called diatonic accordions, which produce different notes when the bellows are pushed and pulled.
