It's more likely that the Harvard leadership has come to realize what Columbia should have known all along: Complicity will not save you.

In recent months, Trump has repeatedly called Canada the "51st state" of the US – and the White House has expressed a willingness to open up new areas of dispute all along the US-Canada border.

Given the US was previously calling these same close allies cheaters, looters and pillagers, there is no way this was the strategy all along.

The White House has said that going big on tariffs and then hitting the pause button, before entering negotiations with individual countries, was the plan all along.

It has a key to the backdoor or, better yet, has lived inside your house all along, trying to burn it all down instead of sitting with the discomfort that your life might be changing.
