In France, yoga retreats were held in and around Paris and in the southern Alpes-Maritimes region.

The raids in France involved 175 police officers and resulted in 40 other arrests across the French capital, Seine-et-Marne, Val-de-Marne, and the Alpes-Maritimes.

Bernard Gonzalez, prefect for the Alpes-Maritimes region, said thousands of German fans began consuming alcohol early Thursday in downtown bars and some of their behavior was “unacceptable.”

The regions of Alpes-Maritimes, Var, Bouches-du-Rhône, Ardèche, Rhône, Haute -Savoie, Vendée, Maine-et-Loire and Morbihan were part of the trial - but tax officials say it may now be rolled out nationwide.

“A bit of new blood and some new faces won’t hurt,” Bryan Masson, who captured a seat in the Alpes-Maritimes area of southern France, told BFM TV last Monday.
