It is a tribute to manager Harry Batt, who was banned from English football after forming the team despite opposition from the Women's Football Association, and has since passed away.

The English team's manager, Harry Batt, was blacklisted by the fledgling Women's Football Association, which was in the process of putting together the first official England team.

In 1969, bus driver Harry Batt formed unofficial England sides to play in international tournaments, mostly made of players from his Luton team Chiltern Valley Ladies.

Mr Batt, who received a lifetime ban from coaching, died in 1985.
