One Ethiopian, who gave only his first name, Binal, because he feared for his precarious situation, was among numerous migrants who refused to board buses on Wednesday, saying he wanted to try to get to England.

Prosecutors appeared to have been caught off guard by Binal­shibh’s allegation and said they would look into it.

Later, James Harrington, the lead civilian attorney for Binal­shibh, said that four of the five defendants are “adamant” in their belief that the interpreter worked at the black site, and that the fifth is unsure.

Those issues include Binal­shibh’s desire to have officials look into what he says is a pattern of mistreatment at the hands of guards inside Camp 7, the section of the prison where he is held.
