Before his injury was announced on Sunday, Snell threw off the bullpen mound at Citizens Bank Park, then spoke with head trainer Thomas Albert and general manager Brandon Gomes for several minutes in the outfield.

The Dodgers bullpen was also excellent once again, lowering their early-season ERA as a unit to 1.94 with five scoreless innings.

But by then, the team was already leading 5-0, giving manager Dave Roberts a chance to ride a rested bullpen coming off of Sunday’s off-day.

“It took a minute for the shock to go away, since from the bullpen they looked like bowling pins,’’ Brewers reliever Trevor Megill told the New York Post.

And despite being called upon for more than seven innings of work, the bullpen posted almost nothing but zeroes the rest of the way, completing the club’s second straight series sweep to open the season.
