Annie Bustamante is a single mother and acclaimed filmmaker whose roots as a comic book artist include a childhood passion for fellow Cubana Valdez’s work.

Why did you frame the story around Annie Bustamante?

“There’s nothing truncated about her preparation and nothing truncated about a lot of people working really hard to crack the code,” said Ross, who ran Cruz Bustamante’s candidacy in 2003.

Bustamante said many men in their 40s and 50s are coming in saying they’d like work done to combat ageism at work, which was echoed by the other practitioners I spoke with.
