Supt Rosie Thompson said that two officers were injured as a result of a deliberate patrol vehicle ramming in Concession Road, Crossmaglen, after a VW Golf "attempted to put the patrol car off the road".

Paul McCaugherty, 43, of Beech Court in Lurgan and Dermot Declan Gregory of Concession Road in Crossmaglen, were caught in an MI5 sting operation.

Concession Road has been closed from Cullaville to the border.

It began about lunchtime on Tuesday, when police closed the A37 Concession Road, Conalig, which is the main route from Castleblayney to Dundalk.
