—Emmett Corwin, Brentwood: Sophomore defensive end recorded two sacks in win over King/Drew.

Sophomore defensive end Emmett Corwin, who transferred from Windward after the school dropped football, had two sacks and six tackles in Brentwood’s 21-0 win over King/Drew.

Corwin D. Smidt, an associate professor of political science at Michigan State University, said via email that he “will know a lot more after Tuesday’s primary,” but “right now my models expect turnout will be very close to 2020.”

When he recovered, a legal dispute blew apart that edition of the trio, but Hassilev kept the Limeliters going, teaming up with Andy Corwin and Mack Bailey.

Hassilev retired in 2006, leaving the leadership of the touring Limeliters to Corwin while still owning the group’s name.
