On Friday a district court judge in Maryland ordered his return.

A federal District Court judge in Washington, D.C., declined to block the administration from sending more migrants to Guantanamo.

District Court Judge Beryl Howell, who wrote an “American President is not a king—not even an ‘elected’ one—and his power to remove federal officers and honest civil servants like plaintiff is not absolute.”

Republicans are also taking legislative aim at nationwide injunctions, including a proposal from Rep. Darrell Issa, of California, that would limit the power of any district court judge to issue injunctions with sweeping national implications.

A federal district court judge in New York has denied the move, ordering the case to be transferred to New Jersey.
