If anyone was hoping to get in some surfing Tuesday afternoon in Huntington Beach after watching the Oilers take on Los Alamitos in a big Sunset League baseball game, Ethan Porter did them a big favor.

On the first pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning Ethan Porter hits a home run for a 3-2 win for Huntington Beach over Los Alamitos.

Among the crowd are Dave Palmer and his stepson Ethan Unitt, both wearing Scunthorpe United jerseys.

After two runners reached based with two outs, Ethan Porter was brought in.

“None of us should be here right now — we should all be at school, but we are here because we care,” said 14-year-old Ethan Maday, a ninth-grader who helped organize his classmates’ trip to the commission hearing.
