Evang. lib. iv.168.The oracles first gave their answers in verse, but their bad poetry was ridiculed, and they gradually sank to prose, and at last ceased.

The authors most frequently quoted are Ostervald, professor and pastor at Neufchatel, whose "Exercice du Minist�re Sacr�" was published in 1739, and Roques, formerly minister of the French congregation at Basle, whose "Pasteur Evang�lique," published in 1723, was still a popular work.
