The largest portion of the funding – £2.687m – will be spent on supermarket vouchers for children eligible for free school meals to help families for 13 weeks of school holidays up to and including Easter 2026.

Families of children in receipt of free school meals will receive a supermarket voucher worth £15 per week, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.

Medway Council also said it would be giving free school meal vouchers to eligible families throughout the summer holidays.

A council has committed to continuing to provide free school meals for children over the Easter holidays.

Primary and secondary school pupils in Herefordshire who are entitled to benefits-related free school meals will be given vouchers to cover the cost of lunch during the break from school.
