“But let’s be honest, in the ‘90s, grungy type of stuff was in vogue.

We had these two big Marshall stacks and this wonderful wall of grungy sound, but there wasn’t a ton of emotional substance in there.

Highlights included Coffee - a tentative ballad about meeting up with an ex - and the lemon-bitter My Kink Is Karma, which got an invigoratingly grungy rock makeover.
