The zoo said this week it was "overjoyed" at the arrival of four hatchlings from Abrazzo and Mommy, a pair Western Santa Cruz Galapagos tortoises.

“Feeding and caring for hatchlings is a delicate and time-consuming process, and Bird Rescue clinic staff are working into the night each day helping raise these birds,” the department said in a news release.

Thousands who have been watching the eagles’ nest on a webcam got to see a hatchling emerge, with glimpses of tiny feathers and a beak appearing Monday night.
