An uptick in office lease signings has led some to hope the office rental market has hit bottom, but others, like landlord and developer Garrett Lee, believe there’s a more reliable path forward than trying to convince tenants to return: converting offices into apartments.

It’s easy to see why esteem for the court has hit bottom.

Famed investor Bill Gross said last week he believed the sector had hit bottom and added he was holding a number of regional bank stocks, fueling sharp rallies in their shares.

"The situation is still difficult and some question if we have hit bottom but it is a fact that customer inventory has started to decrease," Kokusai Electric President Fumiyuki Kanai said, adding he sees growth returning from the end of next year into 2025.
