An Arcadia father was fatally shot during a possible home invasion robbery Tuesday night, authorities said.

In February 2020, rising star Pop Smoke was gunned down in a home invasion after inadvertently posting his location in the Hollywood Hills on Instagram while in town visiting from New York.

The first defendant pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and home invasion robbery in April 2023 and was sentenced to four years and two months in the Secure Youth Treatment Facility.

“For San José residents and for many others in Santa Clara County, few crimes damage our sense of security and peace like a home invasion,” said San José City Councilmember Rosemary Kamei.
