Even Linus Torvalds, the creator of Linux, the operating system which kick-started the open source revolution in the early 1990s, noted at the Open Source Summit Europe in September that the “kernel maintainers are aging”.

Titles in the documentary spotlight section include Steven Feinartz’s “Are We Good?” on comedian Marc Maron, Adam Bhala Lough’s “Deepfaking Sam Altman,” examining AI, Kate Blackmore’s “Make It Look Real” on intimacy coordinators, Linus O’Brien’s “Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror” about the classic 1975 midnight movie and Anayansi Prado’s “Uvalde Mom” on the aftermath of a school shooting in Texas.

Instead of airing on ABC, holiday classics featuring Charlie Brown, Linus and Snoopy are prominently featured on Apple’s streaming platform, sparking a Change.Org petition calling for the return of the characters to broadcast TV.

Gently but confidently, Linus assures him, “I can tell you what Christmas is all about.”

In the stillness, Linus recites the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 2, with its story of an angel appearing to trembling shepherds: “And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
