Actress Rumer Willis makes her musical theater debut in ‘For the Record: Baz Luhrmann,’ which features memorable moments and music from the director’s catalog of work.

Other than a couple of good tunes and a single popular aria, this vapid setting of Shakespeare’s play makes it one of the least notable works in the standard operatic repertory and the least worthy “Romeo and Juliet” adaptation I know, Baz Luhrmann’s “Romeo + Juliet” included.

The night was about Leigh and Luhrmann — the former introduced by Chow and author, lawyer and social justice activist Bryan Stevenson, and the latter by Anna Wintour.

The role most often cited as a favorite during the awards show Saturday night was her musical turn in Luhrmann’s 2001 “Moulin Rouge.”
