A new species of ancient shark that lived around 350 million years ago has been identified from fossilized remains found in Kentucky’s Mammoth Cave National Park.

An August trip to Mammoth Cave National Park will include shows in Bowling Green, Ky., while an exploration of Stephen’s Gap will stop by Huntsville, Ala.

The extended ramp will mean fewer interruptions of service due to low water levels, Mammoth Cave National Park spokeswoman Molly Schroer said.

A statement from the agency said about half were placed into the river within Mammoth Cave National Park earlier this month and the other half were placed upriver.

It was deemed necessary to support critical infrastructure while Mammoth Cave National Park cave tours, visitor center, and campgrounds continue to be closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
