The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Saturday that 73-year-old George Singh of Ontario, Canada was charged with 31 counts of possession of undersized mangrove snapper.

The mangrove snapper are biting one after the other and we’re getting some monsters breaking the line.

Amberjack, grouper, cobia, red snapper, mangrove snapper and barracuda are ubiquitous in the waters here, with divers often spearing fish that rival themselves in size and weight.

Sheepshead and mangrove snapper are fair around the causeway on shrimp.

Redfish, black drum and mangrove snapper are fair to good in the channel and at the jetty on fresh shrimp.
