The proper dress of the Miguelet, if it resembles anything military, is something akin to that anciently used by the English marines. 

On our inquiring the way to the gate, the Miguelet directed us down a street to the left, which we followed. 

This is a genuine snaphaunce, not to be confused with the Spanish or Moorish Miguelet or outside-lock flintlock.
