“Higher fuel prices absolutely mean higher costs for transportation, which increases the costs of consumer goods,” said Louis Campion, president of the Maryland Motor Truck Association, a trucking industry group.

Her family had started and run the post office in the tiny community of Isom and her grandmother’s father had the first motor truck in town.

“I’m kind of shocked at that,” said Rebecca Oyler with the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association, representing truckers, who mostly use E-ZPass.

The Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association also oppose the proposed tolls.

This permits handling of shipments with the utmost speed, and is based on a similar practice in the motor truck field.
