On a muggy Saturday afternoon — Day 4 of my road trip through the Southwest looking for the political soul of Latinos in a presidential election year — I found a radically transformed brewery.

A southerly breeze will develop and very hot and muggy weather will be drawn up very quickly from Spain.

By the time the runners approached the starting line, it was 61 degrees with 65% humidity — the kind of warm and muggy weather that makes a 26.2-mile race even more of a test.

Grimy barracks and muggy Florida weather were replaced by clear skies and new facilities.

But the more the air is laden with moisture, the less efficiently evaporation can take place -- the reason muggy days feel so bad.
