Here Ockeghem, seemingly writing for three confident singers with wide vocal ranges, keeps the texture uniform and varies the mensuration, or rhythmic organization, almost not at all.

Both masses included here, however, belie Ockeghem’s reputation as a forbidding contrapuntist.
