The utility relies on hydroelectric power piped into the city via dams across the state, including on the Skagit, Pend Oreille, Tolt and Cedar rivers.

DeeAnna Orre, 23, grew up in Pend Oreille County, population 14,000, the northeastern-most county in the state.

In comparison, Seattle got 80% of its power from either its dams on the Skagit and Pend Oreille rivers or from BPA.

Jason McQuinn, owner and director of Bear Paw Camp, a Christian camp along the Pend Oreille River near Usk, will be in attendance.

Department of Agriculture has identified numerous locations throughout Washington where veterinarians are in short supply, from rural communities in Adams, Garfield and Pend Oreille counties, to the Puget Sound region’s urban cities and towns, to tribal nations.
