Two teenage girls in the US state of Texas have been arrested for plotting a "mass casualty attack" with pipe bombs and guns, police say.

FBI officials seized over 150 pipe bombs from the house of a Virginia man who used pictures of President Joe Biden as target practice, according to recently released court documents.

Law enforcement sources told The Times that what appear to be two homemade pipe bombs with nails were found in blue coolers placed near two eateries on the famed strip.

An initial FBI assessment found the devices to be "pipe bombs".

The former congressman Lee Zeldin, who is Trump’s pick to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, said the police had contacted him about a pipe bomb threat made to his home.
