In Portsmouth, the City Council voted to to hold the celebration on July 3, with a rain date of July 5.

Events also should be held outdoors with a scheduled rain date, rather than moving indoors.

Officials are hoping for in-person ceremonies July 25 at each high school’s stadium, with a rain date the next day.

A second training session will be held as previously scheduled at Bomoseen State Park in Fair Haven on May 20, with a rain date of May 21.

The rain date for fireworks is April 16.
