It is only the second time the small animals, also known as the rock rabbit or dassie, have reproduced since arriving at the safari park in 2012.

They became very quick at climbing rocks, and even the youngest could scamper up a face of rock almost as quickly as any rock rabbit.

There is one trait in the character of a rock rabbit which breeds it a deal of harm, and that is curiosity.

Panther, I think, peopled them with rock rabbits.
