An avid soccer fan, Francis zealously supported the San Lorenzo team from his native Argentina.

The 88-year-old was a known football fan and had supported Argentine side San Lorenzo since he was a child.

He enjoyed tango dancing and became a supporter of his local football club, San Lorenzo.

Meteorologists were closely watching for potential flooding of Sonoma County’s Russian River near Guerneville and Mark West Creek, and the San Lorenzo River, which travels through the heart of Santa Cruz County.

But he also won league titles in Argentina with San Lorenzo and River Plate, and took La Liga club Villarreal to the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 2006.
