It comes after social media influencers in the small Nordic country began sharing a salad recipe of grated cucumbers, sesame oil, garlic, rice vinegar and chilli oil.

Light sesame oil is typically used as a neutral cooking oil, while the toasted type is used to flavour sauces.

The Drunken option gets sous vide’d with Shaoxing — Chinese rice wine — which imparts a slight extra salinity, then it’s drizzled with sesame oil for a touch of that flavor and added velvety softness.

Besides the different soup stocks and flavors, onions, grated garlic, ginger or sesame oil can be added for extra punch.

As such, a few weeks back, I decided to experiment a bit and diversify my meatball stylings, and reach for soy sauce, sesame oil and fruit preserves.
