Even though he’s got to be the most mainstream singer-songwriter guy to grace a Coachella stage since Jack Johnson, he’s a stadium-caliber act in one of Coachella’s more modest venues — probably the smallest SoCal set he’s played since his recent casino gig.

For week 31, he takes on singer-songwriter Mychelle, who supports Chelsea.

In a press release reported on by Variety, the lauded singer-songwriter decided to release her testament to the contributions of queer, Black musicians who pioneered dance music on the heels of the COVID-19 pandemic because, as she put it, “there was too much heaviness in the world. We wanted to dance. We deserved to dance.”

Her power was apparent to Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, Gale, from the first time she watched the “Selena” film.

But the band’s blended, “ni de aquí, ni de allá” existence became more of an asset with the addition of Pete Astudillo: a hip and fully bilingual singer-songwriter, who helped Los Dinos catch up with Gen X Mexican culture.
