Deciding that Smith was healthy enough to play if needed, the team left Smith on the active list along with Lock and recently-signed practice squadder Sean Mannion.

Tyler Mabry also is on the roster and projects again as a practice squadder ready for the call at any moment.

Mabry, mostly a practice squadder the past three years, had to play some late in the year, officially signed to the active roster before the final game, and had his first TD to help key the win over the Jets.

For now, Mannion is just happy to get a chance to continue to play, be it as a backup or a practice squadder.

But the injury to Dissly and that Dickson was unable to make it back from a knee injury on which he’d had surgery in August had the team turning to Hollister, first as a complement to Willson, and then as the starter when Willson got hurt, with longtime practice squadder Swoopes also brought back.
