A city in Japan has decided to remove a street piano after officials concluded too many people were displaying poor manners while playing.

A downtown street piano for the past several summers has allowed impromptu public performances by anyone who cares to tickle the ivories.

While Sheffield is often cited as the home of the first street piano, the idea for the St Pancras pianos was the brainchild of British artist Luke Jerram, whose Play Me, I'm Yours project has been touring cities around the world since 2008.

Rowe has plenty of ideas about how to use space outside the museum, including running model trains and making a “street piano” available for anyone to play.

Across the street, piano chords tinkle from behind a sign that says, “Brooklyn Music School and Playhouse.”
