There’s also what’s known as a supplemental appropriations request—or a “supp,” in Capitol Hill sicko parlance—put forward by the White House to do three things: provide $24 billion in additional aid to Ukraine, $16 billion in domestic disaster relief, and $4 billion for southern border security.

City manager Jolene Supp says the payoff will be worth it.

Restoration is estimated to cost about $500,000 to the city as well, but Supp said the payoff will be worth it: The city plans to reopen the building as a community center, restaurant and small-business incubator.

The idea behind the small-business incubator is to provide a space for start-ups to test out their ideas, collaborate and obtain funding for needed resources, Supp said.

City crews and volunteers are currently conducting restoration work on the first floor of the two-story building, Supp said.
