The ISU’s proposal would apply to all disciplines that the governing body oversees: singles and pairs skating, ice dance, speedskating and short-track speedskating, which are all part of the Winter Olympics program, as well as synchronized skating.

Korn’s RedHawks earned a silver medal at the 2007 worlds, the first such medal and highest world finish by a U.S. synchronized skating team at the time.

In 1996, Korn helped elevate Miami’s synchronized skating team from club status to varsity, making it the first collegiate varsity synchronized skating team in the nation.
