Recalled Toomer: “I’m sitting there talking to him and then his wife came over and I’m like, ‘I don’t know these people but he’s really tall and let me just keep on talking to him.

Toomer, one of the original organizers, said she was impressed with how the documentary explored Freaknik’s full backstory.

Toomer’s disappointed with the festival’s ending, but she hopes viewers understand the true essence of their creation.
