Clem Burke, the drummer for 1970s new wave band Blondie, has died aged 70 following a "private battle with cancer", the band's spokesperson has confirmed to the BBC.

He has a new film at this year’s Sundance, “Devo,” about the iconic new wave band.

At the time, he was 47, led the new wave band Oingo Boingo and had already scored Burton films “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
