You have forever transformed all of art, be it film or music or painting or cartoons or giving the weather report — all of it became a space for dreaming.

One of the displays at The Longest Yarn, which is on display until 8 February, depicts the weather report provided by Maureen Sweeney from Blacksod Lighthouse in County Mayo, which postponed the Allied invasion by 24 hours.

It was first built as the home base for jazz-fusion group Weather Report.

Gavin and Stacey character Nessa is one of a raft of famous voices who will recreate old versions of the Shipping Forecast on BBC Radio 4 to celebrate 100 years of the weather report.

"It was lovely to see families out enjoying themselves, the weather wasn't the best - even Derek Brockway turned up to give me a weather report, and for a cup of coffee."
