The researchers from the University of Aberdeen found there are more than 160 adults living in Grampian, Highland, Orkney, Shetland, and the Western Isles who have the gene but have not been tested.

Living in the Western Isles, and aware she was classed as a "high risk" and a "geriatric" pregnancy, she knew she would have to deliver in a hospital on the mainland.

It was an attempt to use cutting-edge video technology to chronicle the daily lives of people in the Western Isles.

By the time it reached the Western Isles it had increased in intensity.

It comes after parts of the UK were hit by chilly temperatures and 50-60mph winds on Saturday and Sunday - with the strongest gust recorded in South Uist on the Western Isles clocking in at 82mph.
