France is one of the biggest foreign suppliers of wine to the US, and its winemaking industry has expressed anxiety about what the 20% EU tariffs will mean for their business.

Since Red Stitch uses only purchased grapes, they must be schlepped to Herrera’s winemaking facilities as part of a heavily orchestrated process.

Medical accounts of red wine headaches go back to Roman times, but the experience is likely as old as winemaking – something like 10,000 years.

The grape was first bred in Germany in 1975, but only adopted in Scandinavia from 2004, after which winemaking took off.

Fortunately, David has a thoughtful and minimalist approach to winemaking, so we trusted him to guide us in bringing out the vineyard’s essence and creating a wine that feels distinctly ours.
