People living near Land's End have been advised to buy earplugs due to a lighthouse's on-the-blink fog horn.

The high-pitched electronic beep is usually only heard during foggy conditions, most clearly at Land's End, and also by residents of places around the coast including Sennen and Cape Cornwall.

David Hocking, of Land's End Landmark, said the fog horn issue was "a bit of a talking point and conversation starter" in the area.

In 2021, Costa ran the length of the United Kingdom in 39 days, starting in John O’ Groats, Scotland, and finishing in Land’s End at the southern tip of England.

Running at least 30 miles a day, they told BBC Breakfast that they expect to make it to Land’s End on 1 October.
