The sheriff’s office began investigating early Wednesday after receiving reports that the occupants of a silver passenger were using red and blue lights in the windshield area to pull over at least two vehicles on Kansas 99 between Emporia and the town of Olpe.

Lyon County authorities say someone reported finding the dead dog Thursday evening at a home near Olpe.

Swiss humanist Johann Bergmann von Olpe assured people that there was no greater miracle than a rock falling from the sky.

He was part of the last failed attempt in the 1990s, when the catfish was championed by Olpe High School’s history class and others.

Olpe ended the first half 13-12 and maintained a narrow lead throughout.
